How HuntGrade makes money.

Some of the retailer links on this site are affiliate links. If you buy through one, the retailer pays us a commission at no extra cost to you — the price you pay is the same either way. That commission is not an input to any score, ranking, or verdict on this site.

Every score on HuntGrade is computed from published formulas run over a spec database. The inputs are sensor resolution, pixel pitch, sensitivity, optics, display, and the rest of the measured hardware — you can read the whole method on the methodology page. Price never touches a score, and neither does whether a retailer carries a scope or pays us anything.

Scopes are in the catalog because they are sold in the US, not because someone partnered with us. A scope with no affiliate program anywhere is scored and ranked exactly like one that pays.

• No sponsorships or paid placements.
• No free review units from manufacturers.
• No payment to appear in the catalog, or to rank higher in it.
• No early access to scores for makers or retailers, and no ability to influence them.
• No consulting or testing services sold to the brands we score.

Any page carrying affiliate links says so on the page, next to the links themselves — not only here. It is one standing line rather than a per-link tally, because which sellers pay us makes no difference to the price you pay or to any score.

Affiliate links set a tracking cookie in your browser so the retailer can attribute a purchase back to us. The privacy policy covers what that involves.
