Privacy policy.

HuntGrade is operated by Gear Intelligence LLC, a Texas company ("we," "us"). We publish independent ratings for hunting optics at huntgrade.com. This policy explains what we collect when you use the site, why, and what you can do about it.

• Usage data. Pages viewed, referring site, approximate region, browser and device type, timestamps, comparisons and retailer clicks. Where permitted by your regional settings and privacy choices, Google Analytics collects these events using a browser identifier so we can understand visits and returning use. Reports summarize this activity; the underlying events are not anonymous aggregate data.
• Things you send us. If you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address, and message. If you give us an email address for a data export or update, we receive that.
• Affiliate click data. When you click through to a retailer, we may record the link, product, referring page, country, time and a hashed browser description when analytics is allowed. An approved affiliate network may also record a referral when affiliate tracking is allowed. A hash does not make this information anonymous.

We do not ask for or store payment information. No purchase is ever completed on HuntGrade — buying happens on the retailer's own site, under their policies.

For US visits, analytics is on unless you opt out or send a browser privacy signal. In the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, Switzerland and Quebec, optional tracking waits for your permission. In other regions, or if we cannot determine the region, optional tracking stays off. We use the country and region provided by our host to choose these settings, without asking for your precise location.

Declining does not limit the site's tools. We do not send Google Analytics your email address, account identifier, sign-in codes, contact messages or search text. Our page measurements remove URL queries and fragments. Campaign labels in links can identify which marketing activity brought a visit.

Analytics cookies last up to six months. We keep your privacy choice in this browser for up to six months in a cookie and in local browser storage. Saved refusals in local storage continue until you change or clear them. You can use Privacy choices here or in the footer to change it. Withdrawing stops future collection and removes HuntGrade's Google Analytics cookies; it does not erase events already received by Google.

Google processes this information for the analytics service. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Google advertising signals and personalized advertising features are not enabled.

We plan to use advertising services such as Meta and Reddit after the site is live and our setup is approved. Their advertising pixels are not currently enabled. We will identify the active partners and update this notice before enabling them.

The targeted advertising setting records your preference separately from analytics. When an advertising service is enabled, it can receive browsing activity and device identifiers to measure ads and build audiences for HuntGrade ads on other sites. This can count as a sale or sharing of personal information under some state laws, even when no money changes hands for the information.

Use Privacy choices to turn targeted advertising off. Creating an account is not permission to upload your email address to an advertising audience.

When you create an account, our authentication provider, Supabase, stores your email address, account identifier, sign-in identities, and authentication records. If you choose Google sign-in, Google shares your basic account information, such as your email address and profile details, with the authentication service. We use that information to identify your account.

We send a verification code when you ask to sign in by email. Creating an account does not subscribe you to marketing emails or price alerts. Optional price alerts store the scopes and targets you choose, your email permission, and delivery records. Manage alerts in your account or unsubscribe from an alert email.

Your browser stores a sign-in session so you can stay signed in between visits. Temporary browser storage can also remember where to return after sign-in. You can end your session from your account page or clear the site's browser storage.

Account information is retained while your account exists. To request your information or account deletion, use the contact form.

Video previews are served through HuntGrade. YouTube connects only when you choose to load a video after the notice beside its player. Playback can send YouTube your IP address, device information and viewing activity and use its cookies. This is separate from HuntGrade analytics and advertising choices. Reload the page to end an embedded video session; use your browser settings to remove cookies YouTube has already set.

We plan to join affiliate programs after launch. Once a program is active, an approved link can pass through its network and use cookies or other identifiers to credit HuntGrade for a purchase. Our planned networks include AvantLink and impact.com. Their tracking and retention periods vary by program. We do not load affiliate-network scripts when you browse HuntGrade.

Affiliate redirects follow your regional settings and the separate affiliate tracking choice. With affiliate tracking off, HuntGrade sends you to the retailer's ordinary destination instead. Retailers operate their own sites and privacy controls; our choice cannot remove cookies they previously set or stop their independent collection. Our current providers include Cloudflare for hosting, Supabase for data and authentication, Google Analytics for permitted measurement, Web3Forms for contact delivery, and our sign-in email provider. Affiliate networks receive referral information when an approved tracking link is used. Advertising sharing, when enabled, follows the separate choices described above. We do not sell account or contact lists.

We may disclose information where required by law, or to protect the site's or others' rights and safety.

Contact-form messages are retained while a conversation is open and for a reasonable period afterward. Google Analytics event and user data is retained for up to 14 months; standard aggregate reports can remain available longer. We do not keep personal information longer than we need it for the purpose it was collected.

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email us or use the contact form and we will respond within a reasonable period.

Depending on where you live — California, Colorado, and a growing list of other states — you may have specific rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out. We honor those requests regardless of where you live, so you do not have to prove residency to exercise them.

Most browsers let you refuse cookies or alert you when one is set. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals turn optional analytics, targeted advertising and affiliate tracking off where your browser sends them. These choices apply to this browser; repeat them on other browsers or devices. Disabling all browser storage can also affect sign-in.

This site is meant for adults shopping for hunting optics. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top of this page and give any additional notice required. When a change requires new consent, we will ask for it before that processing begins.
